Developing their unique sound beyond the current scope of “trap,” Bro Safari x UFO! take the hoodrat genre and make it even darker and grittier. With warped vocal samples and nonchalant, adulterating bass, you’ve never seen “The Block” like this. Fire trucks speed down the street, as the gritty synth phrases remind you of the criminal side of raging. With the risk of 20 to life, you’ll be enraptured at the break by the silence, stewing in the misery of a truly ratchet lifestyle. These benevolent creators tack on a bonus section that includes an angelic chorus a la Coolio’s “Gangster’s Paradise,” which is easily my favorite seciton. With the streets engulfed in flames, you might be headed for rock bottom, but “Burn The Block” will have you raging the whole way down.
